My name is
Vera Jancik and I have been running Australian Premium Student Accommodation
since January 2005. This year is our forth year in operation.
Here are some facts about
what I have been doing:

I started from scratch – just with an idea in my head and determination to
make it work.
- I purchased a house that was perfect for what I had in mind.
- I decided what kind of service I wanted to provide and why.
- I have learned hard way how to manage house full of 20-year old students
from all over the world. It is not very straightforward what to do when you
get a couple of Germans, Chinese, Sri Lankans, Indian, Czechs and Australians
living together. Their views of life are VERY different.
- I have been picking the brain of my 20-year old son. He’s been an
invaluable help – he just knows how a 20-year old thinks.
- I have learned how to manage piles of papers, receipts and account
statements that come with running a business.
After three and an half years
...
Today,
the house is always full. Friends of friends of friends of our previous and
current tenants keep calling asking if we have a room available. Some people
have booked a room directly over Internet without actually seeing the house –
just not to miss out.
